What should I wear?

This is probably the most asked question I get. I am here to answer it!

Wear something you feel bomb in❤️

First off, if you are uncomfortable in any way Do not, I repeat, DO NOT wear it. There is nothing worse than having a photoshoot where you have to keep checking yourself. It is distracting and can take away from the real moments ❤️

Location. Location?☀️🌤❄️

Think about what type of images you want. If you like to take pictures where you are on the ground with your kids, a short dress might not be the best choice. If you want to do a beach shoot, don't wear something that will show wet spots easily. If it's in a big open field vs city streets... think wind 🌪 Check the color wheel. If your pictures are outdoors by greenery don't wear blue.

Can't go wrong with texture 🧶

If someone is completely lost and it is fall, my first suggestion is limit large prints (they are distracting). We want to see your beautiful face and especially your kids beautiful faces. Cable knit sweaters are great because they add texture without multiple colors. There are many tops, dresses and sweaters that come in fun textures without taking away from the people wearing them. When you go to a fashion show the models are basically hangers; when you do a photoshoot for your family your faces are the stars ⭐️ Let them SHINE ✨

Check your background and the color wheel 🎨

Lastly, what colors should we wear? If you aren't sure ASK your photographer. I'd rather get a zillion questions than have my clients worried or stressed for a shoot. Neutrals and warm colors are very flattering. Cameras don't have the same mechanics as our eyes. The way our eyes absorb and reflect color is completely different. What you see in the mirror will not be what we see in digitals or prints. I have had my clients wear blue as well as their entire family in blue tones. The people and pictures are still beautiful, but I have a hard time during the editing process trying to remove the "yellowy" cast it creates. I don't want to get into specifics but it is harder to make an image look natural and show natural skin colors when everyone is wearing blue.

But for real... Wear whatever the hell you want 💃

These are all suggestions based off of my style and my aesthetics. They are in no way the end all be all. The most important thing is everyone feeling comfortable and having fun. THAT is the magic that creates my favorite shoots. Be comfortable in what you are wearing. Be confident. It shows in the images and I LOVE that. If you need help picking outfits out I'd be happy to help. The day of your shoot should be fun. Enjoy the process.
