And you have no idea what the process is for booking a newborn session.


Hopefully if you are reading this post you have already checked out my work and are interested in booking a newborn session. Congratulations on your pregnancy! This should help explain the process from booking all the way to the day you receive your images.


First step is deciding what package is right for you. 

Fresh 48

“48” stands for 48 hours post birth but it can be anytime while you are still in the hospital. I use the natural light from the hospital window and lenses that work well in low lit spaces so they come out clear and timeless. These images are meant to capture those first looks of your newborn when they are still squinty eyed and wrinkly toed. You can capture the feeding and any typical things that you would do there. It is a quick and stress free 30 minute session to capture a moment that can not be duplicated. Sometimes families decide to do Fresh 48 and an in-home shoot because they offer such different parts of the newborn phase. When you combine sessions there is a discount which is also a plus!

Lifestyle Package


Lifestyle newborn photos are captured in the comfort of your own home. Using natural light from the windows and your space as the background. Ideally, during these shoots I am more of an observer capturing the moments as they happen. If my clients feel uncomfortable in front of the camera I do some relaxed poses that will lead to those beautiful natural moments. If you have a decorated nursery this is a great way to show it off with some family shots.

In-home deluxe package


This package is in your own home. One part of the shoot is similar to the lifestyle shoot using natural light on your newborn and your family in your home. The second part of the shoot is what would be considered traditional posed newborn portraits. Here I use my professional lighting, props, wraps, backgrounds, and flowers to capture your newborns face and details. 

Now you can book your session!


Information I will need to complete booking:

Name / Email / Due Date / Home Address

Who will be attending the session, e.g. Bobby (7) Jill (3) pet dog etc. 

$150 deposit to hold your session appointment and the remainder will be due on the day of service


  1. Before your due date I will contact you to check in. If you are still pregnant, I will wait for you to contact me post-delivery so we can book the actual date and time that works best for you. No rush! You can wait till you are home and settled in. I know you have a lot going on. I purposely do not overbook to give my moms plenty of flexibility.
  2. The day before our shoot I will contact you again just to confirm and answer any last minute questions. Things happen and if you need to reschedule just let me know as soon as possible even if it is the morning of the shoot.
  3. The flow of the shoot is different for everyone because of all the variables but I will walk you through the whole process.
  4. Once the session is over the editing process begins! I do a lighting and color correction round and then download the images to my website with your own password. (These images take no more than a week but usually between 2 and 5 days)
  5. You then can grab a glass of wine, whip out your laptop and go through the images to pick your favorites. Once that is done you will just email me back telling me you have completed the list!
  6. Second round of editing is where I do all the final edits making sure everyone looks flawless yet natural. This part is very important because we want you and your baby to be the focus!
  7. I’ll upload them to the same page where you can download them individually or the whole gallery. If there are any further edits that you would like always feel free to reach out and let me know or you can make comments on the photos themselves and I can see it on my end.


Then I just wait to meet you guys again for milestone photos or events!


In the end my purpose is to keep this experience stress free from the beginning to end. Email me with questions about color coordinating or text me photos of outfit options if you aren’t sure. Babies cry, poop and get hungry and this is all normal and part of the reason these sessions are longer. I’m here for you and I’ve got all kinds of tricks up my sleeve to soothe babies, make toddlers laugh and even make dogs look at me in the perfect moment for the perfect family portrait!  Hope to work with you!
